Soil Health Demonstration Day
See current soil health practices such as no - till, cover crops, mulching, pollinator habitat, etc. be applied on a vegetable farm in Loveland, CO. Also interact with fun soil health activities provided by the NRCS & CSU In-Riches to learn benefits that soil health practices can have on the biological, chemical, & physical.
This event is partially funded by the Colorado Soil Health Program and Larimer County Colorado State University Extension.
Agenda:
8:30am - Meet at River Ranch Farms
8:30am - 8:45am - Introductions and breakfast
8:45am - 10am - Tour of property and current soil health practices
10am - Noon - Soil assessment stations and hands-on activities
Noon - 1:30pm - Catered lunch and roundtable discussion on everyone's soil health journey
Please make sure you:
- Plan for variable weather
- Wear comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing
- Bring a picnic blanket or camping chairs for lunch
- Optional: bring a sample of soil from your farm/ ranch for the activities.
