FAQs

  1. Ranked Voting is a system in which voters rank candidates in order of preference. If no candidate receives a majority of first-choice votes, then the candidate with the fewest first-choice votes is eliminated, and those ballots' second-choice votes are tallied. This process is repeated until one candidate receives a majority of the votes.

  2. In the November 8, 2022 General Election, voters in the City of Fort Collins determined that the offices of Mayor and of each District Councilmember will be elected through ranked voting.
