Youth Engagement Specialists

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment and TAC212 each hire high school students between the ages of 16-18 for the position of Youth Engagement Specialist. Hiring typically occurs between late spring and early summer each year.

Larimer County Economic & Workforce Development's CareerRise program has a variety of PAID summer internship opportunities available for 16 to 18 year olds and additional opportunities for 2024 high school seniors. Opportunities span a variety of industries including healthcare, construction, marketing, manufacturing & more! 

These internships are supported by Larimer County and the NoCo Manufacturing Sector Partnership.

We are hosting a TEEN JOB FAIR & EMPLOYER PANEL in partnership with Colorado Youth Outdoors for youth & their parents. 

Attendees have the opportunity to:

  • *NEW THIS YEAR* Meet and network with local employers in a job fair format.
  • Attend a business panel about best practices for job search.
  • Learn about PAID internships, summer opportunities & MORE!

Jump Start Your Job Search Series (Over Spring Break!)

Jump Start Your Job Search!

Get ahead of the game & use your spring break to sharpen your job search tools! This 2-day workshop series designed specifically for youth & young adults ages 14-21 will include topics on resume building, interviewing, personal branding & financial planning basics. Lunch will be provided to those participants who attend full day sessions! Individual workshops are chosen during registration.

Schedule:

Day 1Personal Branding (10:00 AM-12:00 PM) & Resume Building (12:30-2:30 PM)

Day 2$ Financial Literacy 101 $ (10:00 AM-12:00 PM)  & Win the Interview (12:30-2:30 PM)

* Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet if available to make great use of resume building time & practice activities. We will have some extra on hand as well.

The content covered during the workshops will help prepare you for the Spring Employment Event!

Registration is required as space is limited.

The Young Entrepreneur Tournament

Youth ages 18 & younger. This 5-part workshop will assist you in identifying & preparing a business plan & will wrap up with youth presenting their business plan to local business leaders & compete for up to $2,200 in cash awards.

The CareerRise team is partnering with TAC 212 to offer a series of Job Search Workshops to teens between the ages of 14-18. The workshops will take place at TAC 212 (Fort Collins' new teen activity center) and will be facilitated by CareerRise staff.
