Starry Sky Soirees with NoCo Astronomical Society
This special event will be an opportunity to discover the night skies of Larimer County at a location far away from city lights. Red Mountain Open Space offers a unique dark sky experience. We'll view the Perseid meteor shower right around its peak! We'll also have activities and a night hike for the whole family.

Telescopes will be available for viewing stars, galaxies, planets and more! Bring the whole group to connect with the wonders of the night sky.

This open house-style program is located at Red Mountain Open Space. Telescopes will be set up in the dirt parking lot. Program is free but registration is encouraged as parking is limited.

Dress warmly for cool evening temperatures (hat, jacket, gloves, etc.) and bring binoculars if you have them.

Red Mountain Open Space is 25 miles north of Fort Collins near the Wyoming border. The trailhead is on County Road 21. Please plan accordingly.

Weather dependent. Registered participants will be notified if the program is canceled and posted at https://www.larimer.gov/events.
