Important information:

• The Larimer County Vital Records Office is closed daily from 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.    
• In-person requests are by appointment only. Please call 970-498-6710 to schedule.
• Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Appointments typically last 15 to 20 minutes.
• If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
• Please submit your applications only once and use only one method. Submitting multiple times or in different ways will result in duplicate orders.
• The Larimer County Vital Records Office is currently processing applications within 2 to 5 business days from the date they are received. Processing times may vary. Please note that processing time does not include time for shipping.
• We issue birth certificates for all births that occurred in Colorado from 1900 to the present. New parents: please note that you must apply for a copy of your baby's birth certificate; the hospital or birthing center does not do this for you.
• We issue death certificates for deaths which occurred in Colorado from 1975 to the present.
• Burial permits (Authority for Final Disposition) are issued to funeral homes and families that are acting as their own funeral director.
