On 12/08/2022, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the Medical Center of the Rockies Emergency Department to perform a death investigation. The decedent was transported to the hospital after he was involved in an officer involved shooting at a home in the 2300 Block of West County Road 38E in Fort Collins.

The decedent has been identified as Randy GOENS, age 61, of Fort Collins, CO. A forensic autopsy was performed and revealed the following:

Manner of Death: Homicide

Cause of Death: Gunshot wound of the chest
