Grants in this targeted area should aim to:
- Promote conversations in diverse community places, increasing peer opportunities to support each other
- Prioritize cultural relevance and cultural competence in the provision of behavioral healthcare
- Address disparities of care for underserved populations
- Provide outreach to and services for communities and individuals that wouldn’t usually seek out or commit to sustained behavioral health services or have limited access to behavioral health and supportive services
Possible strategies to improve the delivery of behavioral health programming through diverse settings:
- Increase peer specialists and training
- Communication and marketing strategies for the community to understand what resources are available
- Reach undocumented population
