No.  Local roads provide direct access to businesses or residential areas.  These roads are limited in length and connections with other road classifications.

The primary function of local roads is to provide access to adjacent land.  They generally  serve as access for a single neighborhood or development.

For example:

  • residences
  • businesses
  • community facilities

Country Club Road is classified as a Minor Collector street.   Minor collectors serve as main connectors between communities and neighborhoods.

On a typical work day Country Club Road currently averages:

  • 4,900 vehicles per day (vpd) west of Lemay Avenue
  • 6,800 vpd east of Lemay Avenue

Saturday traffic levels are about 7-10% less.  These daily traffic volumes are well within the capacity of a Minor Collector.

There are no sidewalks along Country Club Rd.  Pedestrians must walk in the roadway lane, shoulder or in gravel areas adjacent to the roadway.  On average, the pedestrian counts are:

  • 19 on a weekday west of Lemay Avenue
  • 10 on a weekday east of Lemay Avenue

Country Club Road does not have any bike facilities.  The Larimer County Transportation Master Plan includes bike lanes as part of a future Regional Bicycle Facilities network.  There were less than 10 bicycles counted on a weekday or Saturday.

Crosswalks can be found at the intersections of Terry Lake Rd, Gregory Rd/Lemay Ave, Lakeview Dr, Sherell Dr and Turnberry Rd.

Open House presentation board: Welcome to Public Meeting #3. The community's goals include completing the surrounding street network, maintaining character, adding safe spaces for bikes and pedestrians, and improving safety with reduced speed. Four options were presented, based on community input and technical analysis, and we want to hear what you liked and disliked about these options. Please complete our survey to share your thoughts.
Open House Presentation Board: Next Steps. Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins will continue partnering to advance the Country Club Road improvements and surrounding street network upgrades. Leverage Funding: Seek opportunities for funding design and construction, including State and Federal grants and development impact funds. Preliminary & Final Design: Complete detailed engineering work for Country Club Road improvements, which may require refinements to the recommended improvements. Build Surro

Open House Presentation Board: Potential Right-of-Way Impacts. The initial assessment of right-of-way impacts is based on GID parcel data, which may be imprecise. The impact can vary depending on existing right-of-way, ground slope, and other factors. The complete impact will be defined during the preliminary and final design phases. To minimize impact, adjustments to the roadway and trail design will be made. Landscaping within the existing public right-of-way will be evaluated and may be affected.
Open house presentation board: How Much Will it Cost? Phase 1 (Lemay Ave Roundabout) design and construction = $2.5-$3 Million. Phase 2 (Fort Collins Country Club Access Mini-Roundabout) design and construction = $800,000-$1 million. Phase 3 (Lemay Ave to Turnberry Rd) design and construction = $2.5-$3 Million. Phase 4 (SH 1, Terry Lake Rd to Lemay Ave) design and construction = $2-$2.5 million.
