Beginning Birding Walk

New to birding? This is the program for you! We'll walk through how to use binoculars and field guides, learn about bird ID, and discover how birding can contribute to science! Spring is a great time to get to know the birds of Devil's Backbone Open Space- some are year-round residents and other have just arrived after spending the winter in warmer climes. Hike 1-ish miles with Larimer County Education and Volunteer Specialist, Ellen Harris, along the Morrison Loop and Wild Loop trails to learn about bird identification, habitat, and more.
This activity is rated: Easy/moderate (slow pace, trails are rocky with some elevation change. Pit toilets are available, potable water likely to be available depending on weather). Challenges: Little shade, rocky trails.
