Clean the Shoreline
Join us for a fun, end-of-the-season shoreline cleanup! Centennial Bass Club will be taking volunteers out in boats to scour the shorelines of Horsetooth Reservoir for litter. Be a part of the team to keep Horsetooth Reservoir clean because every litter bit counts.
Donuts, coffee & juice, and a light lunch will be provided. Registration is required. Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Youth under 16 yrs. must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Weather dependent. Volunteers should be able to walk 1 mile or less on a sloped, rocky surface.
Please meet the group at 8 a.m. at the South Bay boat ramp, located just north of Horsetooth Area Information Center, to check-in & to pick up your parking pass. Once everyone has checked-in, there will be a short safety meeting and volunteers will be assigned to a boat. We also need volunteers to walk the shoreline for litter.
Please bring the following with you the day of the event:
1. Work gloves.
2. Weather appropriate clothing. It can get cold on the water. Please bring a jacket, layers, hat, sunscreen, and anything else you may need to protect yourself from the elements.
3. Wear sturdy, waterproof footwear as you may be walking in muddy, rocky conditions.
4. Water. Some drinks will be provided.
5. Snacks & lunch if you do not wish to participate in the lunch provided or have special dietary restrictions.
The weather can be unpredictable in October. If it is too windy to launch boats, we will still cleanup along the shoreline. We will contact volunteers if the event is cancelled due to weather. This may occur the morning of the event as conditions can change quickly.
