Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) provides benefits to workers who lose their jobs, or whose hours of work and wages are reduced, as a result of increased imports, or whose jobs were exported offshore (“trade-affected workers”).
The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Program includes a variety of reemployment services that seeks to provide adversely affected workers with opportunities to obtain the skills, credentials, resources, and support necessary to (re)build skills for future jobs and obtain suitable employment.
Any member of a worker group certified by the Department of Labor (DOLETA) may be eligible to receive the following benefits and services at a local American Job Center: training, employment and case management services, job search allowances, relocation allowances, and income support in the form of Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA), if applicable.
Reemployment TAA (RTAA) provides wage supplements for reemployed older workers whose reemployment resulted in lower wages than those earned in their trade-affected employment, may also be available.
If you are interested in services, please complete the following Interest Form.
We will connect with interested customers, in the order they have been received, with Veterans taking first priority of service.
The TAA re-training benefit is a lifetime benefit until utilized, and may be accessed at any time. However, there are specific criteria and time frames associated with several of the TAA benefits, which if not met, may forfeit certain TAA benefits.
Due to program changes, there are multiple versions of the TAA Program. Individual benefits and services vary depending on the petition number. However, the majority of participants are currently being served under the 2015 Amendment Benefits.
