Internships will be paid. Hours and wages vary by employer.

Location: Loveland, CO

Wage: High School Sophomore: $17/hour, High School Junior: $18/hour, High School Senior: $19/hour

Proposed Schedule/Hours: 20-40 hours/week. Minimum = 4 hours per day; 5 days per week.

Overview:
Gain practical experience in the engineering & automation industry. Assist with projects, enhancing your project management, organizational, and problem solving skills. Enhance your technical skills related to engineering, including CAD software, proficiency in tools, data analysis and visualization

Proposed Schedule/Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM; 4 hours per day 20 hours per week 

Overview:

The Labeling Department Apprentice is an entry-level manufacturing position designed for a high school senior completing their final year of school. This position provides hands-on exposure to industrial electrical control panel manufacturing within a UL 508A shop environment.

The apprentice supports production by preparing, organizing, and applying identification labels to electrical control panels and components in compliance with UL 508A standards. This role contributes directly to product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Print and prepare product identification labels using company software and equipment. 
  • Apply labels accurately to control panels and components according to production drawings and specifications 
  • Verify label accuracy, spelling, numbering, and placement 
  • Assist with basic documentation and quality control checks 
  • Organize and stage materials for production 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area 
  • Follow shop safety procedures and PPE requirements 
  • Work under supervision of Production Manager or Lead Technician 
  • Participate in training on manufacturing processes and UL 508A standards -Learning Objectives

Overview:

Hexagon Machine & MFG is looking for a motivated Summer Apprentice Machinist to join our shop team. This is an entry-level, hands-on role designed for someone who wants to learn how things are made and gain real-world experience in machining and manufacturing.

You will work alongside experienced machinists, help with day-to-day shop tasks, and learn the fundamentals of machining through on-the-job training. This role is primarily for the summer, but strong performers may have opportunities for future part-time or full-time roles at Hexagon.

If you like working with your hands, solving problems, and learning practical skills, this is a great way to get started in the machining trade.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist machinists and shop staff with daily shop tasks
  • Help prepare materials, tools, and fixtures for machining
  • Load and unload parts from machines with supervision
  • Debur, clean, and finish machined parts
  • Move materials and parts around the shop
  • Help keep the shop organized and running smoothly

Overview

Seeking a high school intern with a strong mechanical aptitude who is interested in manufacturing, engineering, or skilled trades. Will gain real-world, hands-on experience in a professional production environment. Assists with set-up and operation of CNC milling and turning equipment under experienced machinists. Will support assembly, testing, and inspection of precision mechanical components and equipment. Learn to interpret engineering drawings and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets. 

Skills Gained

Exposure to precision manufacturing and mechanical systems while working alongside skilled professionals. Will learn to perform basic part inspection and prioritize maintaining a clean and safe working area. Additional skills gained: time management, communication, and teamwork. 

Location: Greeley, CO

Wage: $18.00/hour

Proposed Schedule/Hours: Hours can be flexible; 25-40 hours per week. Hours will take place Monday through Thursday between 6 AM - 4:30 PM.

Overview:

Seeking an intern with mechanical aptitude to operate multiple manual & CNC machines daily. Operates and monitors several machines simultaneously to produce established daily quantities of product. Works with micrometers, calipers, blueprints, and other inspection tools to ensure product quality. Operates drill presses, saws, grinders, and hand tools.

Skills Gained:

An understanding of manufacturing from all aspects. From cutting raw material to making a finished product. 

Location: Loveland & Fort Collins, CO (Intern(s) would work PT in both locations)

Wage: $18.00/hour

Proposed Schedule/Hours: Interns can work full or part time at both shop locations (Downtown Loveland & South Fort Collins). Most internships last about 5 weeks. Can work with a student's schedule as needed. 

Overview:

This position offers multiple opportunities at the machine shop and the electronic assembly shop to learn several skills. Interns will be expected to assist with identifying and pulling parts, assembling parts, soldering (with training), some machining, and cleaning of parts. 

Skills Gained:

Interns will be trained on machining, some programming, cleaning and deburring parts, electronic assembly, soldering, inductive soldering, cutting and polishing fiber optics and possibly some design type work, using SolidWorks.

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Wage: $18.00/hour

Proposed Schedule/Hours: *Start date is June 8th. Hours will take place Monday - Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. *Seeking interns who can stay on part-time once the summer is over 

Overview:

Woodward is looking to provide high school students with the opportunity to gain exposure and “real life” business acumen within the Aerospace and Energy Industry. Our internships also provide students with the opportunity to learn and gain practical experience and to work in areas related to their academic and/or career interests, gain hands-on experience while working on challenging projects, and network with professionals and learn from some of the brightest minds in business.

The experience also gives the intern opportunity for potential full-time employment with the company.

Intern will rotate assignments in the Machining Department. They’ll be expected to follow all safety rules, communicate production or machine problems, and maintain consistent attendance. 

Skills Gained:

Machining skills. Work etiquette. Teamwork skills. Will apply technical education coursework knowledge to real world applications. Will gain experience using powered equipment, like hand tools, inspection equipment, and measurement tools. 

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR (see job posting)
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age by 6/7/23
  • Must be able to attend the 1st 2 weeks of training June 8th - June 19th
  • Strong preference for current or previous enrollment in Technical Education coursework at any high school
  • Prefer students with hands-on experience using powered equipment such as hand-tools, inspection
    equipment, measurement tools, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Competence in the use of PCs, MS Office Programs and other associated software.
  • Ability to effectively operate in a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Possess high motivation, flexibility and ability to work on his/her own.

May 1-31, 2026: Employers will invite candidates to interview, conduct interviews, and make final selections.
