Senior Access Points connects older adults with reliable resources in Larimer County.

Led by Colorado State University Extension, is a partnership between:

  • Larimer County Extension
  • CSU Department of Human Development and Family Studies
  • Partnership for Age-Friendly Communities

Market Days! for Older Adults

Market Days! is a program of CSU Extension in Larimer County and the Larimer County Farmers’ Market. It provides fresh produce from the market to low-income older adults who are experiencing food insecurity.

Market Days! improves access to healthful foods with fresh fruits and vegetables by partnering with local community organizations.

Colorado State University Extension has a number of recorded webinars with tips for grandparent-headed families.  You can view all of them below:

GRANDcares

GRANDcares is a program for vulnerable grandparent-headed families which focuses on strengthening self-care and parenting skills in custodial grandparents, developing communication and leadership skills in grandchildren, and increasing the ability of service providers to meet grandfamilies’ needs.

GRANDcares is not currently offering classes in Larimer County. However, resources for grandfamilies are available on the GRANDcares website.

Columbine Health Systems Center for Healthy Aging “Transitions in Aging” Community Certificate

This FREE certificate is designed for community members, students, informal care providers of older adults, or anyone who is interested in topics related to aging. The curriculum is customizable for each participant. And it has two objectives:

  • To build shared knowledge of the aging process:
    • Myths and misconceptions about aging
    • Experiences of older people and caregivers
    • Common age-related diseases and conditions
  • To engage participants in lifestyle practices that support healthy aging.
