  1. How old do you have to be to buy nicotine and tobacco products?

    21 years old. 

  2. What do I do if I suspect a shop is selling to minors?

    It is illegal for shops to sell to anyone under 21. If you suspect a violation please submit this form to the Department of Revenue.

  3. What is the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act?

    In 2019, the Colorado Legislature updated the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act (passed in 2006) to expand smoke-free protections. Current protections include:

    • Vaping is not allowed in indoor public places, including in all bars and restaurants
    • People have to be 25 feet from the main or front doorway when smoking or vaping unless defined differently by local law.
    • All hotel and motel rooms are smoke and vape-free
    • All businesses are smoke and vape-free
    • Common areas of assisted living facilities are smoke and vape-free

  4. Can I just throw away by vape and or e-cigarette?

    No. Vaping devices/e-cigarettes contain nicotine, a toxic substance that is harmful to wildlife and the environment, and lithium batteries, which can cause fires whenever they are thrown away if they are damaged or exposed to extreme temperatures.
