Larimer County Administrative Services, District Attorney, Courts, Landfill, and Ranch offices will be closed November 28 to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. On November 29, Larimer County Administrative Services, District Attorney, and Ranch offices remain closed. Courts will be open until noon that day and Landfill will be open.
Critical county services are not disrupted by closures.
This 73.6-acre conservation easement donation is the largest financial donation the Open Lands Program has received to date. It includes a 16-acre pond and approximately 16 acres of wetlands. Typically, conservation easements are not open to the public, however the landowner, through a special arrangement, has graciously donated a trail easement, and trailhead. It is our vision that sometime in the future the public may have an opportunity to witness the incredible views on this site, as they hike on this future trail.

Management Plan
When only the development rights of a property are purchased, as in the case of a conservation easement, any future development of that land is limited. The landowner continues to manage the property, and the land remains on the tax rolls. Land with a conservation easement is not generally open to the public because it is still in private ownership.
