The land under this conservation easement, located northwest of Fort Collins near Park Creek Reservoir, is not open to the public. The property was leveled and prepared for flood irrigation crop production in 1971. The properties are currently irrigated grass and alfalfa pasture for cattle. The primary purpose of these conservation easements is for the preservation of agricultural lands. However, because of their proximity to the nearby Laramie Foothills Priority Area, they also serve as an extended forage region and travel corridor for deer, elk and antelope while providing a rural landscape foreground to the Laramie Foothills to the west.

Management Plan
When only the development rights of a property are purchased, as in the case of a conservation easement, any future development of that land is limited. The landowner continues to manage the property, and the land remains on the tax rolls. Land with a conservation easement is not generally open to the public because it is still in private ownership.
*The conservation easement on this property is monitored by Larimer County Open Lands.
