Siefke Conservation Easement
The Siefke Conservation Easement (CE) includes approximately 35 acres of land north and adjacent to the Indian Creek property of the Devil's Backbone Open Space, and just west of the Rim Rock Conservation Easement. This property is visible from the Devil's Backbone Open Space and portions of the Blue Sky Trail (under construction), and if developed would be a visual impact to this area as well as the future trail system. The Siefke Conservation Easement provides a buffer and additional protected lands to this area. This property is part of the larger strategy to protect the foothills mountain backdrop between Fort Collins and Loveland.

When only the development rights of a property are purchased, as in the case of a conservation easement, any future development of that land is limited. The landowner continues to manage the property, and the land remains on the tax rolls. Land with a conservation easement is not generally open to the public because it is still in private ownership.
