Level up your stewardship!

Set off on an exhilarating adventure with the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources Stewardship Quest!  Designed to engage kids in taking care of our open spaces, this board game-style activity encourages young nature enthusiasts to complete various environmental stewardship actions throughout the month. But this pursuit isn't limited to the young – nature lovers of all ages are invited to join in. Whether solo or with companions, players can embark on this quest for a exciting outdoor journey.

Here's how to get started:

  1. Get your game board ready by printing, drawing, or downloading it. You can opt for a full color or minimal color game board.
Check out the list of actions provided below to create your own gameboard.

  2. Throughout June, visit Larimer County parks and open spaces (or your own backyard) and complete the stewardship tasks listed. Cross off one gameboard circle per completed task.

  3. Power up your achievements: After every four activities you complete you will earn a star on the gameboard. Each star earns you a digital Stewardship Badge.
Bonus perk: Finish all 20 tasks (or more), and you will be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

  4. Once you've completed the tasks, send us your finished board by June 30. Email a scan or photo of your gameboard to gschaller@larimer.org.

Let your quest begin!

About Stewardship Quest

Healthy landscapes, healthy people is our vision and it takes all of us to achieve it. By participating in the Stewardship Quest, kids (and kids at heart) will learn the importance of conservation and develop a deeper connection to the environment. Activities include picking up litter, practicing Leave No Trace principles, and observing wildlife, all aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility and love for nature.

Even though we offer a variety of programs and events to encourage stewardship and connect the community to the beautiful landscapes of Larimer County, sometimes its nice to do things on your own. This self-guided activity allows participants the freedom to explore at their own pace and choose the tasks that resonate with them, all while cultivating empathy for our natural environment and a sense of purpose in stewarding our parks and open spaces.

Stewardship Quest players make a positive impact on our planet while having fun. Join us and become a nature hero this June!
