  2. Can I reach out to someone if I have questions about the agency or a certain position?

    Absolutely! If you have questions about a certain position, what the hiring process looks like, or other questions, fill out this form and a member of our Recruiting Team will reach out to you. 

  3. Can I request a patrol ride-along/jail tour/dispatch sit-along?

  4. Are there Sheriff's Office specific benefits?

    Sworn personnel are eligible to receive a 12% retirement match. All staff have access to the 24-hour in-house gym, our Peer Support team, and collateral duties to encourage career growth for all Sheriff's Office employees.

  5. What are your personal appearance standards?

    All personnel are expected to maintain a clean and professional image. Hairstyles, including facial hair (sideburns, mustaches, and beards), are permissible as long as they do not detract from a professional appearance. Visible tattoos are allowed so long as they are not excessive, offensive, provocative or distasteful.

  6. What are the automatic disqualifiers?

    At the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, we embrace inclusivity and encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds. However, we cannot consider candidates with felony convictions or who have used illicit drugs in the past 5 years, as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. Marijuana is not included in the five year timeframe, but you will be required to pass a drug test before receiving an offer. We are committed to maintaining a professional work environment and seek candidates who align with our values and contribute positively to our agency objectives.

  7. Am I required to pass a physical fitness test?

    Some positions do require you to pass the Physical Fitness Test for the application process. Please see our Application Process page for further.
