Dr. Erika Michalski

The Rolling Stones Got it Wrong
Keynote by Dr. Erika Michalski

Dr. Erika Michalski is coming to share what Mick Jagger and Keith Richards didn’t realize about satisfaction. Turns out you CAN get it ... if you know how.

This keynote marries research from the fields of neuro science and positive psychology as it invites you to consider how you are cultivating your own sense of satisfaction. Anchored in practical application and balanced with humor (along with flecks of Dr. Erika’s favorite accessory, glitter), this high energy session will leave you with a fresh perspective about satisfaction - both as it applies to your own life and as it relates to the organizational cultures you are part of.

NoCo Works Launches

NoCo Works had its official launch at the 2023 Workforce Symposium at the Aims Community College Welcome Center in Greeley on Tuesday, September 26th. The Symposium, presented by Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development (LCEWD) and Employment Services of Weld County (ESWC), served as the perfect opportunity to kickoff NoCo Works, which is a regional coalition to create a holistic and aligned talent and workforce network in Northern Colorado. NoCo Works is a collaborative effort that actualizes the commitments of the two county workforce development teams’ memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Larimer and Weld’s County Commissioners in September of 2022.

NoCo Works focuses on six key areas, and each has a task-driven committee generating regional-driven deliverables: Economic Inclusion, External Barriers, Business Resources, Training and Development, Talent Pipeline and Work-based Learning. “In order for NoCo Works' mission to be sustained, we must have this initiative owned and led by our community and our local businesses,” said Kelsey Baun, Regional Talent Program Manager for LCEWD and project lead of NoCo Works.

Both of the county's workforce directors, Mark Johnston of Larimer County, and Karina Amaya-Ragland of Weld County, sit on the NoCo Works steering committee, signaling the regional commitment to engage the public workforce systems in northern Colorado.

NoCo Works is actively recruiting members for all six committees. To get engaged with NoCo Works, connect with Kelsey or the NoCo Works LinkedIn page.

Kyle Majchrowski and Christine Sosnowski with Ripple Intent presented Trust in the Hybrid Working World

Most people would agree that trust is a fundamental trait of high-performing teams and the foundation for
getting people to work together effectively. Yet trust often erodes at work, slowly and over time, resulting in
declining team synergy and directly impacting people. Kyle and Christine will lead an interactive workshop
that dives deeply into our working environment – in person, hybrid, and remote. We will explore why we
extend and withhold trust and how that impacts our judgement of others. The brain science or trust, internal
bias and judgement of others, and how we apply our beliefs of trust to our work environment will be
explored. The application of this awareness will be applied to intentionally increase our levels of trust –
regardless of our working environment.
