Before you submit a renewal application, please read the following renewal requirements:
- You may renew up to 4 months before your expiration and no more than 6 months after; after 6 months, your permit permanently expires and you will have to apply for a new one
- You must submit your renewal application online, and then come to the Sheriff's Office Administration building in Fort Collins (2501 Midpoint Drive) to get a new picture taken. You do not need an appointment, and can come in any time Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm (except holidays). You can also come in to the Larimer County Loveland campus (200 Peridot) Mondays and Wednesdays from 8am-5pm. Your application is not complete and will not be processed and mailed until your come in for a new picture
- The cost for a renewal application is $53; there will be a $12 late fee added if your permit has expired and you are still within the 6 month permanent expiration
- The average time to process a renewal is 2-6 weeks
