Nurse-Family Partnership is a voluntary, evidence-based program that serves eligible first-time mothers at no cost to them. Nurse-Family Partnership works by having specially trained nurses regularly visit first-time moms-to-be, starting early in the pregnancy, and continuing through the child’s second birthday.

Pregnant moms benefit by getting the care and support they need to have a healthy pregnancy. At the same time, new moms develop a close relationship with a nurse who becomes a trusted resource they can rely on for advice on everything from safely caring for their child to taking steps to provide a stable, secure future for them both. Through the partnership, the nurse provides new moms with the confidence and the tools they need not only to assure a healthy start for their babies but to envision a life of stability and opportunities for success for both mom and child.

Someone might be eligible for this program if they:

  • Are pregnant with their first child and enrolled before 28 weeks of pregnancy*
  • Meet income requirements (only the mother's income is considered)
  • Are living in Colorado - other counties in Colorado also participate in the NFP program. Interested individuals can check the NFP website for more information on participating counties.

*If there are program openings, a woman who has already delivered and whose child is less than one month old may apply.
