SCOPE OF WORK
Widen and reconstruct 1.5 miles of roadway (Owl Canyon Rd) and widen 4 miles of roadway (CR 9). Improvements include:
Owl Canyon Road
- 6 to 8 foot paved shoulders
- replace/lengthen 2 bridges at North Poudre Irrigation Canal
- replace/lengthen/upsize bridge (Boxelder Creek East of CR 9)
- single lane roundabout (Owl Canyon Road and CR 9 intersection)
- realign and add center turn lane (Owl Canyon Road and CR 7 intersection)
CR 9
- 6 foot paved shoulders
- left turn lane (new North landfill entrance)
- replace/lengthen/upsize drainage structure (CR 9 North of Owl Canyon Road)
- replace/improve minor drainage structures as needed
- install broadband system expansion conduits
PURPOSE
This project is planned due to:
- capacity improvements for new landfill
- safety improvements
BUDGET
$5,000,000
Larimer County Road and Bridge, Solid Waste, and Information Technology Department, and CDOT funding
PROJECT STATUS
- majority of the construction is complete
- bridge replacement over Boxelder Creek (North of Owl Canyon Road/CR 9) nearing completion
- completion of construction expected October 2024
