On the morning of September 10, 2023, Paul Gallenstein, 64, was located deceased on the Foothills Trail near Horsetooth Reservoir. The Larimer County Coroner determined cause of death as a gunshot injury. This is being investigated as a potential homicide. 

The Gallenstein family is offering a reward up to $50,000 for information that leads investigators to a successful resolution of the case.
