The main function performed by the Civil Process Unit is to serve civil papers. LCSO Civil Process personnel will never demand money from defendants via telephone. Judgments are ordered by Larimer County Courts and paid to the courts, not the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. If LCSO is ordered by the courts to seize money/property, deputies will do so in person.
The mission of the Civil Process Unit is to provide quality customer service in the processing and execution of civil process. The duties of the unit vary and include, but are not limited to:
- Service of civil process
- Sale of real and personal property under court order
- Execution of court ordered evictions
- Court ordered stand-by to keep the peace

Any additional information provided such as date of birth, place of employment, best time to serve, vehicle and physical description, or picture is helpful. This information should be provided on a Larimer County Sheriff's Office Information Sheet.
