Please read all of the following information before filling out an application:
Before you apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit, please make sure you have the following documentation ready to upload to your application:
- Colorado driver's license or ID card*
- Proof of training* (training must be in person and taught by a "certified instructor")
- Proof of residency (required if the address on your driver's license does not match your current residence)
- Application fees of $132.50 (paid by credit/debit card) are required when completing the application*
- A valid email address is required for all applicants*

Concealed Handgun Permit application process:
- Complete the online application and schedule your appointment to get your photo and fingerprints completed. You can schedule an appointment at our Fort Collins Administration building (2501 Midpoint Drive) or Larimer County Loveland campus (200 Peridot). Walk-ins are only accepted on a case-by-case basis. Bring a valid Colorado driver's license to your appointment
- CHP staff will conduct CCIC/NCIC and local records checks, and if no prohibiting circumstances are discovered, your permit will be mailed to your residence within 90 days from the date your fingerprints are submitted
