Larimer County Community Development Director Lesli Ellis has been appointed as Larimer County’s new Director of  Community Planning, Infrastructure, and Resources.

Ellis will lead six Larimer County departments: Community Development, Engineering, Natural Resources, The Ranch at the Larimer County Fairgrounds, Road and Bridge, and Solid Waste.

She fills the vacancy after Laurie Kadrich, who previously held the position, was appointed as Larimer County Assistant County Manager.

Ellis brings almost 30 years of community development expertise in both the public and private sectors to her new position, serving the last four years as Director of Community Development for Larimer County. Before coming to Larimer County in June 2018 she served as the City of Boulder, Colorado, Comprehensive Planning Manager for six years.

“I’m excited to work towards building a stronger and resilient community, to partner and carry out the successful completion of many projects that are consistent with the goals set forth by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners,” said Ellis. “Larimer County is a great organization and I look forward to continuing serving our community.”

Some of the projects include landfill and solid waste facilities programs; regional transportation; local road and bridge construction; natural resources stewardship; and water, energy, and infrastructure projects. “These projects are critical for the next 10 to 20 years of regional growth and change,” said Ellis.

She begins her new position on March 9.
