After almost a decade of exceptional service to the Larimer County community, Clerk and Recorder Angela Myers has announced her retirement, effective May 31, 2023.

During her tenure, Myers has been instrumental in modernizing and streamlining Clerk and Recorder operations, ensuring that all community members received efficient and effective services. Myers is praised for her commitment to fair, secure elections and innovative leadership.

In accordance with Colorado state law, the Larimer Board of County Commissioners is charged with filling the Office of Clerk and Recorder vacancy. The appointment will fill the vacancy until the 2024 general election when the remaining two years of the term vacancy will be filled by election.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners will consider the appointment of long-time Clerk & Recorder employee Tina Harris during their weekly Administrative Matters meeting.

Harris is the current Chief Deputy and Recording Manager for the office and, if appointed, will take over the role on June 1, 2023. Harris has been with the Clerk's office for 23 years and has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the office. Harris started as a Vehicle Licensing Technician and worked her way up, demonstrating her commitment to the office's non-partisan operations and her clear understanding of the work required to run fair and secure elections.

Larimer County Commissioner and Board Chair Jody Shadduck-McNally commented, "Tina Harris is the right choice to continue Angela Myers' legacy of excellence in the Clerk and Recorder's office. She has been a vital office member for over two decades and is well-respected across the state professionally. I believe she will provide continuity for a busy time for the office."

"Tina's experience and leadership make her the ideal candidate for the job. Employees in the Clerk's office call her 'a visionary' and say she 'provides levity' to a challenging job. I'm confident that Tina will continue to provide excellent leadership for the office and the community members of Larimer County," said Commissioner John Kefalas.

Commissioner Kristin Stephens echoed her colleagues' sentiments, stating, "Tina is a dedicated public servant and has been an integral part of the success of the Clerk and Recorder's office over the years. With her trusted professionalism and knowledge of the office, I do not doubt that she will ensure a smooth transition."

Angela Myers' retirement marks the end of an era in the Clerk and Recorder's office. Her innovative leadership and commitment to excellence have left a lasting legacy that will continue under Tina Harris' stewardship. The Larimer County community can look forward to a seamless transition and continued outstanding service from all departments within the Clerk and Recorder's office.
