On July 22, 2023, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to the Medical Center of the Rockies Emergency Department to investigate the death of a 40-year-old male. The decedent had been transported from 318 N College Ave in Fort Collins, CO on July 21, 2023, after suffering stab wounds. 

The decedent is identified as Duane Roger BROWN of South Dakota. Mr. Brown was also an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.  

A full forensic autopsy was performed on July 24, 2023, at the Larimer County Forensic Sciences Center by Dr. J. White, D.O.
