The Crime Victim Compensation (CVC) Board for the 8th Judicial District is seeking a volunteer community member residing in Larimer or Jackson counties to serve a three-year term. Those interested in applying will need to complete an application and include a resume and letter of interest. The application is available online and will close on Wednesday, September 6, at 11:59 p.m.

The CVC Board meets monthly on the second Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. to review claims for victim compensation eligibility. Monthly time commitments for board members may be anywhere from six to sixteen hours outside of board meetings in order to review application documents, which can include information that is highly sensitive and sometimes disturbing. All information reviewed is confidential and protected. Under state statute, board members are appointed by the District Attorney; however, the CVC board works separately and is an independent body from the District Attorney's Office. 

Crime Victim Compensation is established under Colorado law to provide financial assistance to victims and families of victims who have suffered physical or emotional injury as a result of certain crimes.
