FORT COLLINS – Horsetooth Reservoir’s Satanka Bay parking lot, W. County Rd 48C, is closed to the public January 30 through February 16 to allow the first phase of construction for a new Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) boat inspection station.

All watercraft including their motors, trailers, compartments and any other associated equipment or containers must be inspected for exotic invasive species (Aquatic Nuisance Species or ANS) before launch or departure from Horsetooth Reservoir.

The new ANS inspection station will allow staff a designated permanent location for inspections on the northern end of the reservoir in addition to a covered shelter from inclement weather.

While access to the eastern parking lot at Satanka Bay will be closed, visitors are encouraged to access Satanka Bay via the western parking areas.  The second phase of construction for the new ANS station  will occur in March for an additional three weeks.
