Carlos Juarez Martinez was sentenced today to 10 years of Sex Offender Intensive Supervision Probation following a guilty plea to one count of Invasion of Privacy for Sexual Gratification, a class 6 felony. As conditions of his sentence, he will be required to serve 60 days of a work release sentence, undergo sexual offense-specific treatment, be supervised by a community supervision team, and be required to register as a sex offender. The 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office secured Juarez Martinez’s guilty plea on January 26th, 2024.

On August 7th, 2023, Carlos Juarez Martinez was accused of cutting a hole into a portable toilet stall at the Larimer County Fair and watching a six-year-old child urinate. Juarez Martinez had attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers of the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. Following his arrest, he admitted to viewing pornography and masturbating in the portable stall. Additionally, officers found that a total of five portable stalls had holes cut into them at the Larimer County Fair.

“The sentence secures a high level of accountability for a class 6 felony, ensuring the defendant will be under the highest level of supervision for a long period of time, best ensuring long-term community safety and will face resentencing if unsuccessful,” says DA Gordon McLaughlin. “We are thankful to our Special Victim Unit team who worked closely with the victim and their family on this resolution and finding them closure on a traumatic crime.”
