Multiple air resources were ordered as LCSO responded to the fire. Water and fire retardant were dropped continuously until about 8pm. Air and additional ground resources will resume operations in the morning.
The fire will be attended overnight by fire crews. As of 6am tomorrow morning, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will transfer command of the fire to the United States Forest Service (USFS). At that time, they will be responsible for all public information moving forward. LCSO will continue to operate the Joint Information Center (JIC), and provide information about evacuation notices, animal evacuations, and road closures. We will continue to share fire information as we receive it from the USFS.
Due to the large outpouring of support, no additional volunteer resources or supplies are needed at this time.
For up-to-date evacuation information including evacuation areas, visit https://www.nocoalert.org/ or text LCEVAC to 888777. The JIC will reopen tomorrow at 8:00 am, and can be reached at (970) 980-2500.
