Larimer County has selected Lorrie Lopez as its new Director of Finance.

Lopez brings over 25 years of experience to the position, with over 20 of those years working in Larimer County’s Finance Department. She will take over the position from longtime Director of Finance Carol Block, who is retiring.

She recently served as Controller in the Larimer County Department of Finance for the last 12 years. From 2001 to 2012 Lopez advanced her experience by holding various financial roles such as Accountant II, Senior Accountant, and Chief Accountant at Larimer County.

“Lorrie stood out in our candidate pool not only for her exceptional skills and qualifications but also for the strong, collaborative relationships she has built within our organization as a trusted finance partner,” said Larimer County Support Services Director Mark Pfaffinger.

Lopez brings a wealth of professional financial experience to the new position and is also a Certified Public Accountant, earning numerous awards in Financial Reporting.

Lopez started work in the new position on November 12.
