LOVELAND - Visitors to Larimer County parks and open spaces in 2024 rated their experience as satisfactory to very satisfactory, according to the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) “Rate Your Day” survey results announced today.  The visitor satisfaction survey was conducted from June through October last year.

With 1,112 responses, the survey gathered important insights directly from visitors at all parks and open spaces managed by LCDNR. The survey scale is based on five stars with 1 being very dissatisfied and 5 being very satisfied.

Key findings:

  • Respondents rated their experience an average of 4 out of 5-stars or “satisfied.”
  • 52% of total respondents gave a 5-star rating.
  • 79% of total respondents gave a “satisfied” or “very satisfied” rating (4 or 5-stars).
  • 87% of total respondents reported feeling safe and welcome.
  • 78% of total respondents provided comments about their visit.
  • Respondents came from 36 states, with 82% from Colorado.
  • Of respondents from Colorado, 14% were Larimer County residents.

Launched in 2023, “Rate Your Day” is conducted to get a self-reported measure of visitor satisfaction and identify areas for continuous improvement. A third cycle of “Rate Your Day” will occur May through October 2025.

The survey was facilitated through a QR code on posters, flyers, social media, and signage at trailheads, campgrounds and visitor centers. It featured three questions and took a visitor less than two minutes to complete. Campers were also invited via email to participate.
