CIRT Activated for Jail Incident
The Eighth Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been activated to investigate an incident involving an inmate in the Larimer County Jail.
On March 24, 2025 around 6:15 p.m., a Larimer County Jail deputy was conducting routine inmate status checks and discovered an unresponsive man in his cell. Additional deputies and jail medical staff responded and immediately provided first aid. He was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The 44-year-old man was the only inmate in the cell, which was locked.
CIRT was activated and responded to take over the investigation. Fort Collins Police Services is the lead investigating agency and any further information regarding this incident will be released by that agency.
