The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) is the first United States federal law dealing with the sexual assault of prisoners. Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives, comprised of Community Corrections and Alternative Sentencing, is committed to a safe and secure environment for all of its residents and staff. This commitment includes a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of neglect and abuse, including harassment, assault, bullying, and sexual abuse.

The Criminal Justice Planning unit assesses the entire public safety system to make sure that justice is served and that efficiencies are in place that promote good use of public resources.
