The senior and military (activated guard or reserve) tax deferral program is offered by the State of Colorado. It allows you to postpone your tax payments until you sell your property, or your estate is settled after your death. Interest is applied to the amount you defer. The Colorado State Treasury has now expanded their current property tax deferral program to include a tax growth cap increase based on prior year's tax bills.

Effective January 1, 2023 the State has opened a new deferral customer care center which removes the Larimer County Treasurer & Public Trustee’s Office as its liaison.

All questions should be directed to:

It has been our pleasure assisting the Larimer County taxpayers with this program in previous years.

Note: Deferral of your property tax does not negate your right to apply for the Property Tax/Rent/Heat Credit.
