Beginning January 1, 2027, Larimer County will transition from the existing Commissioner appointed Advisory Board structure to a Community Road Board model, working directly with the Larimer County Engineering Department. Notice of the upcoming operational changes were shared with existing board members on September 23, 2026. Districts with current or upcoming board vacancies will transition to a new application process fall 2026.

The Improvement District Advisory Boards assist and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the affairs of the district. Such tasks may include identifying improvements to be made in the district, developing an annual budget for expenditure of district funds, and retaining contractors to carry out district projects.
