Waitlist
Entry into Community Corrections depends on available bed space as well as the client’s programming and treatment needs. For security reasons, staff cannot provide specific details about an individual’s place on the waitlist or the exact date they will enter the program. Timeframes may be longer for clients awaiting specialized programming (such as inpatient substance use or dual diagnosis treatment). Waitlist estimates are updated once per month.

Males: 3-4 weeks
If referred to a specialized program (RDDT, IRT, STIRT, DV, SO), the wait time may be longer.Females: 6-7 weeks

Department of Corrections (DOC)
Males: 4-5 months after acceptance
If referred to the dual diagnosis program (RDDT), the wait time is 5–7 months.Females: 5-6 months after acceptance
If referred to the dual diagnosis program (RDDT), the wait time is 2–3 months.
Evaluation Process
As part of the screening process, each referred individual participates in a one-on-one interview with an evaluator. During this interview, information is gathered about:
Current and past offenses
Court sentences and supervision history
Mental health and substance use concerns
Social and personal history
The evaluation gives individuals an opportunity to share their story and provide context about their lives.
Acceptance into Community Corrections, or denial, is determined by a range of factors. Success in the program depends greatly on each individual’s willingness to take responsibility for their decisions and their motivation to make positive changes.
If you have been ordered to complete a Community Corrections screen, please follow these instructions. Please note that this screen is not optional, it is a Court ordered requirement. We may request that you are placed into custody if we are unable to schedule an interview with you or you miss your appointment.
Step 1: Schedule an Evaluation Interview
If you are not in custody, there are 3 ways to schedule your evaluation.
1. In-person at 2255 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins CO 80525- Enter through the Day Reporting Center entrance to schedule with our Admin staff.
2. Through phone, by calling (970) 498-7506
3. By emailing cc-evaluations@co.larimer.co.us
If you are in custody, the Evaluations Unit will do a face-to-face or phone interview with you in custody. An evaluator will come see you prior to your sentence date.
Step 2: Complete the Interview
Please bring the following to your interview if possible:
• ID
• Proof of employment
• Proof of residence
• List of current medications and prescribing doctor
• Mental health records
• Questions for your Evaluator
This interview can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. During this interview we will cover your current offense, prior charges, prior supervision history, substance use treatment needs, mental health treatment needs, employment/education, and social history.
Step 3: Screening Process
Your assigned evaluator will screen your referral with an in-house Selections Committee and your case may need a final review from our Advisory Board. You will not be present for this review. After the decision has been made to accept or reject, a letter will be submitted to the Court and your attorney prior to your sentence date. You may contact your assigned evaluator for results.
If the Court orders a screen, we will review your case. There are no automatic reject situations if your case is eligible for a Community Corrections sentence. Our agency’s mission is to address individual’s risk and needs through intervention, resulting in enhanced public safety and improving lives in the community.
