The Emergency Services Exploration Series (ESES) is an educational program designed for Larimer County community members. Participants will learn about LCSO's involvement in wildland fire, disaster response, search and rescue, and emergency medical operations. Much like the work itself (which doesn't happen behind a desk), ESES is a highly interactive program with opportunities for hands-on learning.

The program will be held over four Saturdays. Each class will include different topics, tools, and demonstrations. The fee to attend ESES is $20, which will support local search and rescue organizations.

  • Applicants are asked to attend all four sessions (with the exception of emergencies).
  • Applicants must be a resident, student, or business owner in Larimer County.
  • Applicants must not have any felony convictions in the last 5 years, or any active charges (misdemeanor or felony) pending prosecution.
  • The minimum age to apply is 15. Applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.
  • The Sheriff or his designee may reject any applicant due to criminal history, law enforcement or jail contacts, and/or indications an applicant may be disruptive to the class.
  • Space is limited. Applicants will be notified in mid-August if they have been selected for the program.
  • Selected applicants will need to submit the $20 registration fee by September 1, via mail or in person. Cash or checks are accepted, made payable to Larimer County Sheriff’s Office. Mailed payments can be addressed to LCSO Public Information Office, 2501 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
