Youth Engagement Programs

Our mission is to ensure that all young people in Larimer County have the information, tools, and support they need to lead long, healthy lives. We work to empower youth and elevate their voices through:

  • Youth outreach and engagement
  • The facilitation of three youth coalitions where members share their life experiences and perspectives, and impact health policy
  • Opportunities for youth professional development and leadership

By amplifying their ideas and supporting their leadership, we help youth bring their visions for themselves and their communities to life.

Youth Engagement Specialists

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment hires Larimer County youth between the ages of 16-18 for the position(s) of Youth Engagement Specialist.

This paid position is a 6-12 month commitment at 10 hours per week. Applicants must be a high school student for the upcoming school year to be considered and must reside in the boundaries of the school district in which they are applying. The work will be a combination of in-person and remote.

The focus of the work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Outreach to local youth
  • Developing social media and print materials
  • Providing perspective to inform health outreach and education activities
  • Serving on community-wide coalitions
  • Facilitating youth-led coalitions
