Health

Youth Action for Health (YAH) is a youth coalition operating in Larimer County. Our mission is to promote the health of Fort Collins youth.

We meet weekly at TAC 212 to discuss important youth health related topics and create innovative solutions. We strive for representation across grades, schools, etc. to provide a platform for young people to share their voices, perspectives, and ideas. We aim to uplift all youth in Fort Collins, so we employ a very flexible structure for all members. Consistent attendance is not mandatory; we welcome anyone who can come at any time openly!

Join our next meeting!

YAH meets every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 8pm at TAC212 (212 West Mountain Ave, Fort Collins). Free dinner is provided at each meeting.

Our Projects

YAH led a survey-based campaign to gather local youth perspectives on sexual health education. The findings were shared through a call-to-action presentation to key stakeholders, including PSD and the Board of Health, advocating for improvements in youth sexual health education and resources.

"Habit" is a powerful short film created entirely by YAH members to address the dangers of fentanyl use among young people. The film aims to educate youth about substance misuse, harm reduction, and how to save lives.

YAH participated in SAMHSA's FentAlert: Empowering Youth to Safeguard Against Fentanyl Challenge, earning an honorable mention and $2000 to fund the production of this short film.

"Habit" premiered at The Lyric in August 2024. The screening was followed by a free naloxone training.

You can watch "Habit" here.
