Congratulations to Lukas Lundgreen of Human Services Benefits and Community Support Division
A client contacted us and expressed gratitude and appreciation for his help on many occasions. The client said he always was patient, professional and polite, everything a manager should be. Way to go, Lukas, for providing such outstanding customer service!
Deputy Division Manager Kimberly Rino received a phone message from a client regarding Senior Income Maintenance Technician Stephanie Camplin
The caller said “Stephanie is a peach! You need to give that woman a raise because she is nice, kind, patient, tolerant and smart. I just love her. You need a thousand more people like her. If you had a thousand more people like her, no one would ever get mad at you. If you can’t give her a raise, give her a big, fat pat on the back in front of everyone at least.”
Email thanking Pamela Jennings, Program Coordinator for Healthy Communities, Larimer County Department of Health and Environment
Hello. I wanted to reach out to you about Pamela Jennings and the outstanding support she gave me and my husband in our efforts to find affordable insurance support for our disabled son. Our child was born almost 16 years ago with half of a heart and an extra malformed bone in his back. For years, I've avoided seeking help outside of our private insurance system out of shame, pride, denial, and assumptions that these support systems were not intended for us. After spending almost $10,000 out of pocket on health care last year and over $100,000 out of pocket in the first ten years of our son's life, I realized that I had to do something to protect his future and finally looked into available services. Kudos to your departments for making the web sites and information easy to find.
Then, Pamela was so kind to me when she called me back after I left her a message. I was in tears at work in a little conference room, and I can't remember exactly what she said, but she offered compassion, empathy, and a sense that yes, help is for us too. When I finally was ready to initiate the process a couple of months later, she helped me by provided the forms in encrypted email and making time to go over them with my husband and me at her office. I have a master's degree and the paper work was still confusing, so I can't imagine how hard it is for families with fewer resources and/or language barriers. Your team is providing an exceptional service for our community, and I cannot thank Pamela enough for helping me through a mentally and emotionally difficult process. Filling out the paperwork brought back many traumatic memories of our son's multiple heart surgeries and brushes with death. Pamela kept saying, "the things that happened to him are not who he is," and she was so tender when we showed him a picture of our son.
I can't imagine that it is an easy job helping confused and distraught families, but she does her job very well and it is clear she cares deeply for her clients and their needs. Thank you for the services you all make available to our whole community, and please don't hesitate to reach out to me if ever you can use my support as a voter and tax payer in your work to help Larimer County families.
Most kindly and with deep gratitude,

Thank you to Megan Blaser (4-H Agent), Pam Heeney (4-H Admin Asst.), and several 4-H volunteers in regards to a 4-H event at The Ranch
Hello ladies,
We attended the event today at The Ranch to get our daughter’s requirement for the Meat Quality Assurance (MQA) completed.
Faith and Meghan opened up with a discussion on Ethics. A very important topic and AWESOME job by these young ladies. Great ambassadors for the Ag industry. Very kind to the kids and interested in talking to them. Our kids need to be prepared for people who might not understand the industry.
Everyone was super helpful at the event. The people involved are really vested in the success of the kids. It’s inspiring -especially as a parent who lacks some excitement about the chicken project her child is insistent about. :)
BIG hat-tip to Bart who was the kindly gentlemen at the booth where the kids got to try a subcutaneous and IM shot. This guy deserves a medal. I don’t know how many times he explained the proper way to fill a syringe and then deliver the shot into the muscle or the orange but he was patient and kind every time. My kid was especially reluctant and he was great. There’s a whole backstory and I can only say that his efforts were amazing today and VERY appreciated. The difference that interaction made is huge for us.
Someone went to a lot of work to have dioramas set up. My daughter had a great time pointing out everything that was wrong. The visuals were so critical!
I learned a lot, my husband learned a lot and most importantly, our daughter had a wonderful experience.
I just wanted to pass my comments on and I’m hoping you can also relay them to the proper people. I was sure to thank them at the time but they deserve some recognition for the job they did.
Big thanks to whoever coordinated this event. I know they are changing some of the requirements to take online. It’s a mistake to underestimate the importance of the hands-on experience and tactile learning that happens in the environment created for today.
With appreciation,
