Important Campground Notices for 2025
Carter Lake Camping: Due to ongoing site improvements and road construction currently in progress, the following campgrounds are impacted:
- Eagle Campground: Sites are reservable on Friday and Saturday nights only, up to 30 days in advance. Reserve online or by calling 1-800-397-7795.
- Equipment Size Advisory: If you have a larger camping unit (RV or trailer 26 or more feet in length), navigating the construction will be challenging. We recommend South Shore campground as an alternative to better accommodate your needs during construction.
- Eagle Shower House Access Alert: The Shower House/Overflow Parking Lot has limited access. ADA accessible parking or direct vehicle access to the shower house, is only available Friday–Sunday. Visitors can access the shower house by foot 7 days/week. See larimercamping.com or call (970) 619-4570 for more info.
- North Pines Campground: Starting August 4th, the campground will be temporarily closed.
- After September 1, there will be no access to the North Pines area during the week (Monday–Friday) until further notice. The boat ramp and day-use areas will be open on Saturdays and Sundays only.
- Big Thompson Campground: Starting April 1, the campground will begin transitioning into day-use parking and will not offer camping. The area is currently closed until further notice.
Larimer County Department of Natural Resources manages a variety of campgrounds for every style of camping. Whether it's large group camping, boat-in sites, equestrian campgrounds, backcountry experiences or even tipi camping, we have it all.
Learn more through our campgrounds and cabins tabs and be sure to make your reservations early. Campgrounds start filling up six months in advance!
The following is NOT allowed:
- Secondary units at campsites such as additional RVs, 5th wheels, trailers, pop-ups, etc.
A camping unit is defined as a wheeled unit used to sleep in. However, additional ground tents are allowed. Walk-up camping without a reservation. Same-day reservations can be made online,
by calling 1-800-397-7795, or in person at a park office.(Please contact the Administrative Office with questions : 970-619-4570)
