Mission

To strengthen local response capabilities for disasters, including natural disasters (e.g., floods, wildfires), technological failures, public health emergencies, and potential acts of terrorism. This is done through emergency preparedness, disaster planning, and community readiness for worst-case scenarios. (At the heart of our mission is Murphy’s Law: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong!)

Primary Area Of Response

While we serve Larimer County, we can deploy - upon official request - to support disaster-response efforts statewide.

How We Help

We support any and all sheltering efforts in emergencies where possible. Such activities may include administration, logistical support, disease surveillance, psychological first aid, and coordination to support medical or behavioral health.

We strive to engage all members of the community to improve emergency preparedness and reach new volunteers. This includes outreach to English language learners/limited English-speakers and other groups likely to have access-and-functional needs during emergencies as a result of structural barriers.

Staffing first-aid tents (or conducting public outreach) at pre-planned community events, such as outdoor festivals, concerts, sporting events (e.g., 5K races, bike races, marathons), parades, and air shows.

  • Emergency Preparedness Training
  • Support services to Emergency Operations Centers, Joint Information Centers, Disaster Assistance Centers, Evacuation Shelters, Reunification Centers, etc.
  • Logistical support
