The suspect accelerated towards the deputy, and the deputy fired his service weapon.

The deputy sustained minor injuries, and was treated and released from the hospital. The suspect also sustained minor injuries. He was treated at an area hospital and taken into custody. There was an adult passenger in the suspect vehicle who was not injured.

CIRT was activated and responded to take over the officer-involved shooting investigation. Fort Collins Police Services is the lead investigating agency and any further information regarding this incident or charges will be released by that agency.
