The Remote Work Program allows employees to work at a worksite other than a County office or other County location for all or part of their work week. Larimer County considers remote working to be a viable, flexible option when both the employee and the job are suited to such an arrangement.
The objectives of the remote work program are to:
- Offer an enhanced work/life balance.
- Provide seamless customer service from a remote work location.
- Support employee recruitment and retention.
- Increase employee morale, productivity, and job satisfaction.
- Reduce absenteeism.
- Improve air quality by lowering carbon emissions.
- Reduce traffic and parking congestion.
- Maximize the use of County resources, including office space.
Remote work is work performed by an employee at a worksite other than a County office or other County location. The County recognizes two types of remote work employees: Mandatory and Voluntary.
- Mandatory Remote Work employees are required by their position or job to work one or more days a week from a remote work location. A Mandatory remote work employee does not have an assigned physical desk space at a County facility for one or more days a week.
- Voluntary Remote Work employees are not required by their position or job to work one or more days a week from a remote location. A Voluntary remote work employee has an assigned physical desk space at a County operated facility for all scheduled hours of work.
