Employees required to work remotely (essential remote work), are eligible to receive an annual stipend to assist in ensuring employees are appropriately prepared to work effectively and efficiently remotely. Not all employees that are working remotely will receive a remote work stipend. Employees that receive the remote work stipend are employees that are required to work remotely and do not have for all or a portion of their scheduled hours a County provided physical location.
Each remote work employee, where remote work is required, and the employee does not have a County provided physical location for all or a portion of their required/scheduled hours, and is approved for remote work will receive a remote work initial stipend of $1,200, and each year following will receive a stipend of $500.
The stipend amount will be paid through payroll with appropriate tax withheld. The County will not require receipts or documentation for the use of the stipend.
Cell phone and internet stipend information are included in the Wireless Communication Policy 340.1.
