The Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex (The Ranch), located in Loveland, Colorado opened in 2003, and is owned and operated by Larimer County. 

The Ranch consists of the Blue FCU Arena, The Ranch-Way Feeds Indoor Arena and Livestock Pavilions, the First National Bank Exhibition Halls, and the Thomas M. McKee 4-H Youth & Community Building.  The Ranch hosts more than 2,000 events annually.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Section is entrusted with the safety and security of the patrons visiting the Larimer County Fairgrounds and Events Complex, as well as ensuring that emergency plans are in place during events such as natural disasters.  The Larimer County Sheriff's Office works in conjunction with surrounding law enforcement agencies to provide the necessary staffing for larger venues such as sporting events, family shows and concerts.

Larimer County is host to more than 100 special events annually that include everything from marathons to road races, to bass fishing tournaments.  It is the responsibility of the Special Operations Section to review special events permits and ensure that the event will be held in a safe manner and do not adversely impact the safety of the general public.
